Your ovaries are stimulated with gonadotrophin injections for 7 to 10 days after which a procedure called as ovum pick up is done under anaesthesia in which all your eggs are collected with a help of trans vaginal ultrasound. These eggs are then vitrified ( frozen) and stored in liquid nitrogen chambers. The eggs can be used and are unharmed for a period of at least 8 to 10 years. This modality is generally recommended for women who want to delay marriage or family.
